Soapberries are a natural, hypoallergenic alternative to traditional laundry detergents and soap. They are safe to use for babies and children and are perfect for those who suffer from allergies and sensitive skin. Soapberries are amazingly multipurpose and can be used as an eco-friendly solution to a wide range of cleaning needs. Once you've finished using them, throw them in the compost bin or let them break down naturally in your garden.
500g of soapberries can be used for 180+ wash loads.
Our soapberries come with three reusable washing bags inside the main storage bag.
As a laundry detergent:
1. Place 5-8 berries into the washing bag provided. Ensure bag is securely closed.
2. For warm and hot washes, place the bag in the washing machine with your laundry. For cold washes, soak the bag in warm water for 3 minutes first.
Can be used for up to 5 loads of laundry.
As an all-purpose cleaner:
1. Add 3 berries per 1 cup of water to a clean and empty pot and bring to a boil.
2. Once boiling, turn down the heat, mash the berries inside the pot and leave to simmer for 20 minutes.
3. Turn off the heat and leave the liquid in the pot to cool.
4. Remove and strain the berries before transferring to a jar or bottle.
The soapberry liquid can be used as a:
Dishwashing liquid, hand soap, laundry liquid, hair shampoo, mild insect repellent, pet shampoo, bathroom and kitchen cleaner, stainless steel cleaner, pre-wash stain remover and mould remover.
Soapberry liquid is natural, and will spoil over time. To extend its life for up to a month, store it in the fridge. To keep for even longer, freeze it into ice cubes.
Avoid getting the soapberry liquid in your eyes. Do not drink the soapberry liquid.
