CLEANING
When cleaning, all accessories must be removed for cleaning. If the silicone is not removed, unfortunately this can cause deformation. The pump motor cannot be washed as this will cause it stop working.
Breast pump parts do not require sterilisation as they are only in contact with breast milk which is already sterile. Therefore we do not recommend frequent sterilisation as high temperatures over 100 degrees can be harmful to pump parts which causes breast pump parts to deteriorate and discolour.
DO NOT put any of the parts in the dishwasher, the high temperatures and wash cycles will not clean the parts properly and can cause deformation and warping.
Best cleaning method is to wash by hand with warm soapy water to preserve the life of the parts and get the best result.
Shield and Diaphragm:
If there is air leakage or looseness, the parts need to be replaced. Pay special attention to the silicone diaphragm. If you don't pay attention to cleaning, it will tear and damage. DO NOT wash it with a stiff brush or this will damage it.
Duckbill Valve:
The function of the duckbill valve is to prevent milk reflux and ensure the freshness of milk. If the suction is found to be not as good, it will reverse flow, and milk will not go into the collector; this generally means that the valve is not closed well and needs to be replaced. DO NOT wash it with a stiff brush or this will cause it to open at the bottom and impact the suction strength.
